There are many fascinating areas to study and engage in deeper research. Out of all the areas, the attempt to understand the phenomenon of life is most intriguing. Life forms are appearing and disappearing and yet what is this awesome subtle phenomenon giving rise to consciousness and life has remained elusive to most of the people, including the learned scientists. In everyday life we can observe live entities and lifeless entities.
On simple observation, the two are certainly different yet we all are baffaled what is the “invisible” substance giving rise to life? Intellectuals of science with advanced research end up with gross atoms and molecules, which is inert matter. One Nobel laureate expressed frustration by stating, “In my search for life I ended up with atoms and molecules which have no life. In my old age I am retracing my steps back where life slipped through my fingers.” It appears the phenomenon of life is different from grasping gross and subtle elements or energies of this world.
In religious and spiritual circles, we know there is more to life then the physical elements. All religions mention and teach about the “soul” and yet contain very little information about the nature and characteristics of the soul. All living beings are embodied souls i.e. are “trapped” combination of matter and spirit soul and are everywhere. Living bodies function and respond because of the presence of the soul yet many aspects of this “living force” is not explained clearly i.e. either logically, scientifically or through worldly experiences. Because of this lack of clear knowledge, pastors, preachers, priests and imams bash us only with aggressive sermons, shouting to have “blind” faith without giving more details about the nature and characteristics of the living force. We human beings are embodied souls, inhabiting human bodies similarly other creatures are also embodied souls inhabiting other kinds of bodies. If anyone clearly and logically explains these difficult topics then preachers (religious teachers) tell their followers they should be very wary and disregard them as trick of the devil. Isn’t there room for logic, reasoning and observation of life forms and how to observe presence of this superior force in all living bodies? God is most knowledgeable and intelligent, the source and creator of everything but we are told the devil is more clever than God is! That makes God less then devil!
